A Ramped Bottom Board^™ is a BeeCARE exclusive integrated base for a beehive.  It is a single-piece bottom board with a landing ramp, similar to a combination of an old-style bottom board and landing board.  A Ramped Bottom Board serves both as the interior floor of the hive body and as an alighting board for field bees returning from foraging.  The ramp improves the chances that a foraging bee will make it into the hive when returning from the field.  The ramped bottom board is superior to the old-style bottom board/landing board combination because:

	Serves as both bottom board and landing ramp in a single unit
	Landing ramp helps field bees into the hive in strong winds, minimizing hive drifting
	Easier to work with than the old-style bottom board / landing ramp combo
	No poorly-fitting separate pieces prone to weathering
	More attractive and durable than the old-style combo
	No gap at the front between the board and the ramp to collect hive debris and attract ants
	Sealed seams on top exterior to keep water from damaging the base
