These items are completely optional, but are nice if your bee suit or clothing doesn't have built-in means of sealing up your pants legs and sleeve cuffs.  If you don't have straps, rubber bands around the cuffs work fine for your shirt, and tucking in the pants legs inside white socks keep curious bees from traveling up your leg to some final destination.
